Is ZEP compliant with the 2022 German Federal Labour Court ruling?
Yes. ZEP meets all requirements of the mandatory time recording obligation following the BAG ruling of September 2022. Times are stored in an audit-proof manner and can be exported at any time for audits.
How long does setup take?
Most teams are up and running within a day. Employee data can be imported via CSV or through HR integrations such as Personio. Our support team guides you through onboarding.
Is there a minimum contract or minimum number of users?
No. ZEP starts from 1 user and runs on a month-to-month basis. You only pay for active users — scalable up and down at any time.
How is data stored and secured?
All data is stored on ISO 27001-certified servers in Germany. Storage is GDPR-compliant and ZEP performs daily backups. No third-party access without your approval.
Can employees track time offline?
Yes. The ZEP app (iOS & Android) supports offline mode. Entries are automatically synchronised once the internet connection is restored.
Does ZEP support shift work and flexitime?
ZEP supports all common working time models: full-time, part-time, flexitime, shifts, remote work and hybrid models. Each model can be individually configured.
What export formats are available?
ZEP exports to Excel, CSV, PDF and directly to DATEV, Lexware and other payroll systems. Custom exports can be realised via the REST API.
